Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland
Published by: Activision
Developed by: Neversoft Entertainment
Released October 18, 2005

Why we chose it: The Tony Hawk series is amazing. Every year since it was introduced it has managed to almost completely reinvent itself while not losing its basic design. This year added a lot of new features: More on foot options, BMX bikes, and a completely seamless city to explore and skate in. All of these features make it the top Alternative Sports Game of the year.
