Take a look at MVP Baseball 2005, as we get into the finer details to the solution in your baseball fanatic needs.
Now, if you love some baseball, you'll have to have MVP Baseball 2005 in your gaming archive. EA SPORTS has made the characteristics of each player more accurate to the current season's roster and agenda. Of course, you can use the free agency to replace other players from the current roster to your own line-up brand. You can also save your accurate roster, stats, RPIs, player's style, and other types of configuration you may want to add-on. Saving and loading does take a bit to continue on with your game. Once you get into the game, that's when you'll start to enjoy the action.
Unlike many genres of sports gaming, this game will have your behind moving just like you're really in a Major League Baseball game. This is a true classical Americanized baseball game to the max. You talk about specific details in graphics, gameplay and sound - this game's got it. All of the leftovers from what we didn't say... well, let's just say we have some minor tweaks to adjust to.
Gameplay
As you finally get into the game, you'll notice the camera angling around each stadium. You won't be able to contain all of the stadium until you have done some games in 'season mode'. Sorry, it won't help in exhibition mode so don't even think about it. Before you actually play the game, let's look at the options you have to choose such as weather, temp, time of day, so on. You'll need to much light while playing this game because if you hit a ball in the outfield, it can get a bit dark back there. Although, you do have a yellow circle that indicates and follows the ball every step of the way. To select your stadium, just scroll left to right or right to left to choose which stadium you like. We normally choose Yankees Stadium because it's a bit of a challenge to get the ball out of the park; you can always go with the Boston's Redsox's field as well.
Let's play ball! The announcer will announce the game and you'll see the pitcher warming up. Let's skip all of the mumbo-jumbo and get to nitty-gritty side of things and we take to you to the plate. Okay so, you're up at bat, now you're looking at the pitcher face-to-face trying to think of what he's going to pitch out to you. You can move to the control-stick to manuever how you want to bat. Here comes the tricky part! You have to figure out when and when not to hit the ball - such as a real baseball game. It's not as easy as you think it is, though after you get all of the controls set and raring to go then you'll get better at batting. If you actually do hit the ball without it getting caught by an out or in-fielder, you can run fast or slide however you want (check the controls section for more options).

On the defensive side, while pitching and fielding the ball, each pitcher has their own unique style of pitching. If you're like Hideki, then you'd want to say, "kick my a**", at least while he's pitching. You'll notice the selection of different pitches on the right-hand side of the screen. You have your common pitches such as: Fast, curve, slider, changeup, etc. If your opponent hits the ball, then you'll the option of using manual or assistance in outfield positioning. Meaning, the players can either assist you in outfield such as run towards the ball and throwing it back or you can manually do the same procedure by yourself. It is quite easy once you get use to it.
